BACKGROUND
As a digital video educator, James Monohan (aka "The Mac Video Geek") specializes in teaching Avid Xpress Pro, Avid Xpress DV, Final Cut Pro, and other related software.
One of the original staff writers for 2-pop.com (the DV filmmaking resource), Monohan was there when Final Cut Pro first arrived on the digital filmmaking scene, soon followed by Xpress DV. Since then, he has written numerous articles for editing and digital filmmaking-related web sites and has authored FCP and Avid training CDs for the Virtual Training Company. In addition, he served as an in-house editor/QA tester for the Pinnacle Cinewave team and a demo artist and trainer for Promax, Pinnacle, and Infiniti Sales and Marketing.
Monohan's most recent credit is the new book "Avid Xpress Pro for Windows and Macintosh: A Visual QuickPro Guide" published by Peach Pit Press.
When not teaching, he tends to practice what he preaches as a freelance video producer/director and editor .
